Eglinton TOday – Virtual Public Meeting – June 22/22

June 13, 2022

Many of you will remember "Eglinton Connects" which essentially is now being called "Eglinton TOday".

Along certain parts of Eglinton - between Duplex and Oriole Parkway, the "new look" is taking shape which is being built by Metrolinx based on the City's design.

So, now ... what about other stretches of Eglinton, particular in ARECA's area?

On May 18th there was a Stakeholder Meeting and here is a summary from that meeting and the presentation.

The City of Toronto is working to make travel on Eglinton Avenue safer, more inviting, and attractive for everyone. The EglintonTOday Complete Street project proposes streetscape improvements and bikeways on Eglinton Avenue between Keele Street and Mount Pleasant Road.

What is a Complete Street?

Complete Streets are streets that are safe for users of all ages and abilities, regardless of whether they are travelling as drivers, pedestrians, people biking, or transit riders. The EglintonTOday project proposes to implement complete street elements by reassigning existing road space to accommodate vehicular traffic, parking, bikeways and integrating bikeshare, seasonal patios, art installations and other neighbourhood and cultural events.
